Terms of Service

Effective date: [Launch Date]

Last updated: [Launch Date]

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of yaddayadda.io (the "Service"), operated by [Your Legal Name / Entity] ("we," "us," "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. What yaddayadda Is

yaddayadda.io is an AI-powered placeholder text generator. It provides contextual dummy text, structured UI component content, and static placeholder text ("Yadda Ipsum") for use in design mockups, prototypes, development, and related creative workflows.

The Service includes:

  • A web-based text generator at yaddayadda.io
  • A REST API accessible at api.yaddayadda.io
  • An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server at mcp.yaddayadda.io
  • Browser extensions and design tool plugins (when available)

2. Accounts and Registration

Some features of the Service require an account. You can create an account using Google OAuth, GitHub OAuth, or email and password.

When you create an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Service Tiers and Pricing

Web Plans

  • Free: 10 AI generations per day, 5 tone presets, ads displayed. Yadda Ipsum (static text) is always unlimited and requires no account.
  • Pro ($9/month): Unlimited AI generations, all tone presets, no ads, generation history, HTML output, priority generation.
  • Lifetime ($299, limited availability): One-time purchase during promotional periods. Includes Pro features with a 10,000 generation cap. Once sold out, this offer will not be repeated.

API Plans

  • Yadda Ipsum (free, no key required): Unlimited static placeholder text. IP-based rate limiting applies (1,000 requests per day per IP).
  • Hobby (free, key required): 500 AI generations per month.
  • Starter ($15/month): 10,000 AI generations per month.
  • Pro ($49/month): 50,000 AI generations per month.
  • Studio ($149/month): 200,000 AI generations per month.
  • Enterprise (custom pricing): Unlimited generations, SLA, custom tones, white-label options.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Price changes do not apply retroactively to the current billing period.

4. Payments and Billing

All paid plans are billed through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period.
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except as required by applicable law.
  • If a payment fails, we will notify you by email and may downgrade your account to the free tier if the payment issue is not resolved.

API usage is tracked and billed according to your plan's generation limits. Overages are not permitted — requests beyond your plan limit will receive a 429 (rate limit) response.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the AI models, prompts, or proprietary logic behind the Service
  • Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or any technical restrictions
  • Flood the Service with automated requests designed to degrade performance for other users
  • Use the API in a way that misrepresents the source of generated content (e.g., claiming AI-generated placeholder text is original human-written copy for final publication)
  • Resell API access without an Enterprise agreement
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content from the Service beyond normal API usage

We reserve the right to throttle, suspend, or terminate access for any user who violates these Terms or engages in abusive behavior, at our sole discretion.

6. API Keys

API keys are issued through the developer dashboard. You are responsible for keeping your API keys secure.

  • Do not share API keys publicly (e.g., in client-side code, public repositories, or forums).
  • Keys are hashed before storage. We cannot recover lost keys — you will need to generate a new one.
  • You may create multiple keys and revoke them individually at any time.
  • We reserve the right to revoke API keys associated with abusive or unauthorized usage.

Key format: yda_live_ for production, yda_test_ for sandbox environments.

7. Intellectual Property

Our IP

The Service, including its design, codebase, prompts, tone presets, template system, static Yadda Ipsum text, brand assets, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, branding, or proprietary technology.

Your Generated Content

Text generated through the Service — whether via the website, API, or plugins — is provided for your use. You may use generated placeholder text freely in your projects, mockups, prototypes, and products without attribution.

However:

  • Generated text is placeholder content, not original creative work. It may be similar or identical to text generated for other users.
  • We make no claim of copyright over AI-generated output, but we also make no guarantee that generated text is unique or protectable under copyright law.
  • You are responsible for reviewing generated content before use in any published or public-facing context.

Your Input

Any topics, prompts, or configuration you provide to the Service remain yours. We do not claim ownership of your inputs. We may process your inputs to generate output and improve the Service, subject to our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of generated content
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Compatibility with any specific design tool, framework, or workflow

Generated text is placeholder content intended for design and development use. It is not professional advice of any kind. Do not use generated content as final copy without human review.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Cost of substitute services
  • Damages resulting from generated content used in production without review

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers. Your use of these integrations is subject to those providers' own terms:

  • Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com/legal)
  • Supabase — authentication and data storage
  • Google / GitHub — OAuth authentication
  • Google (Gemini API) — AI text generation
  • Vercel — hosting and serverless infrastructure
  • Cloudflare — CDN and security

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

11. Availability and Uptime

We aim to keep the Service available and performant but do not guarantee any specific uptime percentage outside of Enterprise agreements with a signed SLA.

We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or to address security issues. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice for planned downtime.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if you have an account) or by posting a notice on the Service.

Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • Your payment method fails and is not resolved
  • We are required to do so by law
  • We discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice)

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 8, 9, and 14) will survive.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your State / Country], without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with [arbitration rules], except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
